Welcome To Atlanta

September 1st, 2010

Here’s a view of Atlanta during the early stages of the evening rush hour.
I’m passionately in lust with this city, even with all the crime and traffic.
I feel so at home in Atlanta, like for the first time in my life I’m in the right place at the right time…ofcourse this could all change tomorrow given how fast I change my mind about stuff but for now, this crazy southern city is home!

Sometimes a girl just needs a man to hold her hand.Seriously.

You are Divine Inspiration

August 20th, 2010

“You live each day with unparalleled passion.
Without even trying, you help others see the world through more optimistic eyes helping them find ways to appreciate what they typically take for granted.
And when your friends are going through rough times, you always seem to know just what to say to make them feel better.”

My Lead and Supporting Roles

August 18th, 2010

A while back I reviewed Marcus Buckingham’s book Find Your Strongest Life: What the Happiest and Most Successful Women Do Differently and out of curiousity I decided to take his test to see what my lead and supporting roles were and they were right on – they describe me to a T,it’s almost scary.I’ll share the results with you now:

Your Lead Role – Advisor
Advisor

You begin by asking:
‘What is the best thing to do?’

Your thrill comes from knowing that you are the person others turn to for the answer. You don’t necessarily want to be the person who actually makes the changes happen. Rather, what excites you is being valued by others for your insight and your judgment.

Your best quality:
Your ability to find a solution

Always:
Search for data to support your advice

Be careful you:
Don’t get frustrated by other people’s failings

Your smartest career move:
Any job where you’re paid to be opinionated

Your Supporting Role – Motivator
Motivator

You begin by asking:
‘How can I raise the energy?’

You are acutely aware of the energy in the room, and you feel compelled to do what you can to elevate it. You do this with your outlook—you are an instinctively optimistic person.

Your best quality:
Your infectious energy

Always:
Step in and take responsibility for the group

Be careful you:
Don’t get sucked dry by emotional vampires

Your smartest career move:
Any job where you’re paid to keep a group of people excited.

Your Business Needs A TV.Seriously.

August 9th, 2010

For as long as I can remember my mother has had a television in her office. It doesn’t seem to affect her productivity one bit and her clients seem to love catching up on world events and even their latest soap operas while they wait for her to attend to them. The older I get the more I seem to gravitate toward places of employment that have television sets in the work place. I think they make both workers and clients a tad more relaxed and they always provide excellent ice breakers. Imagine being stuck in an office lobby waiting for the receptionist to show you into an office for a private meeting, instead of awkwardly staring at each other while you wait, you can turn your attention to the television quietly playing in the background and bond over whatever issue is being discussed on the telly. Now that would make you really grateful for the genius behind the direct TV for lobby idea, wouldn’t it?

In my opinion, every business should consider setting up a television in the office and with the satellite options available today, it’s not as hard as it sounds. Hospitals get two big thumbs up for leading the way in using television as a means of distracting patients from their pain. Direct TV for hospitals provides a wide range of programs that hospitals can choose from that are family friendly. You know how annoyingly long the lines in the waiting rooms are but you won’t believe how fast the time passes when you are too engrossed in a TV show.
