Is Michael Jackson black or white?

Blogged under This and That by mimi on Saturday 19 January 2008 at 8:45 pm

So I just got my Ebony Special Collector’s Edition in the mail and I’m seated here with a really puzzled look on my face.
Michael Jackson is on the cover.
Yes,I know the picture I took is rather crappy but thats besides the point…
The man on the cover is white.
Michael Jackson was born black.
Both his parents are black. His siblings are black.
Footage from back in the day clearly show him as a black boy.
So why is he a white man now?

I can’t recall which comedian it was who said about Michael Jackson:
“Only in America can a poor black boy grow up to be a rich white man”
It was probably Chris Rock.
He hit the nail right on the head.
Michael Jackson is a mystery.
I bet he wakes up in the morning, looks at himself in the mirror and asks himself “who am I”?
Wait, isn’t he the one who sang..”man in the mirror” and “black or white”?
The lyrics in both songs have nothing to do with Michael Jackson and what I’m writing about today, its just a weird coincidence I noticed the titles of both songs as I was pouring out my random thoughts on this snowy and cold Saturday afternoon
So,is Michael Jackson black or white?
You be the judge.

Is Michael Jackson black or white?

So long my dear friend…

My buddy is leaving for Afghanistan today.
Actually,he leaves today for training then he’ll be deployed on the 26th.
I’m nervous for him.
To him this is just a job.He loves what he does.He is just obeying commands.
He is a soldier and thats what soldiers do.They obey commands.Orders.
Soldiers do what they are told to do.He can’t say no.
When his country says it needs him,he asks where and when and packs his bags.
I don’t understand this war.
I don’t support it.I’m not against it.I simply don’t understand it.
There is so much he said-they said stuff going on that its hard to figure out exactly who is saying what and what the truth about anything really is.
But I support my friend.
And if this is his chosen field,oh well…what can I say?
May the angels be with him.
Its actually weird knowing someone who is going to war.
I guess at the end of the day….
I just want my friend back….in one piece.Alive.
So long my dear friend.

Its not christmas but I see snow…

This is what my front lawn looked this morning when I got up.
Snow.
Yes,snow in Georgia.In January.
My whole backyard was white.
This probably has something to do with global warming
Or mother nature is seriously pms’ing
Either way,I don’t particularly care,this doesn’t make sense.
I want my sun and warmth back
I don’t want to wake up to a white ground
Its not christmas,I don’t want to see snow….

Perfect for that know-it-all teenager

I’m sure this is a poster my parents would have loved to have back in the day when I was giving them hell as a teenager.
As I read it,I couldn’t help but chuckle a little.
Lets just say I wasn’t the easiest child during my teenage years.
I’m surprised my parents didn’t end up in some crappy mental ward thanks to my antics.
They grinned and suffered through all my tantrums and surprisingly they still love me.
If you have teenagers, especially those who think they have the answers to each and everything, buy them this poster and watch how fast they shut up and start appreciating every little thing you do for them!

My Rules

Blogged under Jokes by mimi on Tuesday 15 January 2008 at 9:47 pm

Typical macho man married typical good-looking lady and after the wedding, he laid down the following rules:

“I’ll be home when I want, if I want and at what time I want-and I don’t expect any hassle from you. I expect a great dinner to be on the table unless I tell you that I won’t be home for dinner. I’ll go hunting, fishing, boozing and card-playing when I want with my old buddies and don’t you give me a hard time about it. Those are my rules. Any comments?”

His new bride said, “No, that’s fine with me. Just understand that there will be sex here at seven o’clock every night.. whether you’re here or not.”
