I used to be so good at keeping in touch
but I’ve noticed the older I get,the less and less I keep in touch with my friends.
Its not something I do intentionally,its just that sometimes there are never enough hours in the day
to return a phone call or reply that email.
Sometimes I’ll make a note to get in touch with a friend of mine
and catch up on whats happening in their life and I get so busy,I never contact the person that day.
I tell myself I’ll contact them the next day,that also never happens…
before long,”the next day” turns into a week,a month and then an entire year goes by and I still haven’t been in touch.
I love my friends,I really do.God knows I value each one of them but I suck at keeping in touch.
I think of my friends often and this year,I’m going to work extra hard to find that 2 minutes it takes to dial a number just to say “hey,I’m thinking of you and I care a great deal about you.Thank you for being my friend.”
