When was the last time you gave yourself a gold star?

I know you’re probably thinking to yourself..”okay,now she’s really lost it” but I want you to take a second and ask yourself when you last gave yourself a gold star for accomplishing something you set out to do.Seriously.

I’m currently trying to potty train my handsome little dude and any parent who has been through that knows its not the easiest thing in the world to do.Everytime he uses the potty,he gets a nice yellow smilie sticker…thats his “gold star” for being a “big boy who goes to the potty”.Just the other day as I was rewarding him with yet another sticker,it occurred to me that I have done so much and accomplished so much on both a personal and business level and yet I have never rewarded myself with a gold star,ever!But thats all going to change now.I’m not going to sit around and wait for someone else to recognise my achievements and give me the proverbial gold star…no…each time I do something I feel is “gold star worthy”,I’m just going to go right ahead and give myself one huge gold star.I probably should dedicate an entire wall to my gold stars because I see myself accomplishing alot of stuff and I need all the space I can get so I can admire my gold stars and get motivated to work even harder.

So don’t wait for anyone to give you a gold star.If you have done something you are truly proud of,go ahead and give yourself a big ol’ gold star—you deserve it!

I love creative ads that are able to hold my attention for more than 5 seconds and this dressbarn ad featured in a back issue of Redbook magazine did just that…I love the wording.

Anyone who knows me knows I’ve got a wicked sense of humor so its really no surprise that when I stumbled across ShopWiki’s Outdoor and Gardens section,the first picture that caught my attention was this cute little thing:

One of my closest buddies is an avid gardner and she’s got a lovely sense of humor too so I know she’ll truly appreciate having that standing in her garden.What else would she appreciate?Hmmm,seeing as she’s got a birthday coming up real soon,I know she’ll be happy with some gardening supplies but I’ll do one better and send her supplies plus a New England Gardening Guide.She’s a big reader so that should keep her busy for a while.

David Beckham looking so uncool with bleached hair

I think David Beckham is the sexiest creature ever.
He is handsome,talented and filthy rich.
He’s also very adventurous and is always changing his look.
Now normally he does look hot but this bleached blonde look is definitely not flattering at all.
This is probably the only time Becks has got it wrong in the hair department and thankfully someone in his camp must have talked him out of it because it was very short-lived.
Regardless of what hairstyle he chooses to go with this week,David Beckham is still the hottest living person on planet earth.

I stopped caring about American politics after the whole Bush/Gore/Florida mess.
But you’ve got to admit,the Bush or anti-Bush jokes never get old.

I saw this on a forum I frequent.
At first I thought it was rather cute,then it hit me….
This would be so funny if it weren’t true.
I believe that:
Parents have a right to discipline their kids when they step out of line.
Teachers and other authority figures have the right to discipline disruptive kids.
Thats how I was raised.Thats what I believe.
You don’t have to agree with me.
The scary thing is parents and teachers wont punish kids these days because well….kids have guns.
You punish them and the next thing you know,your face is appearing on the 5 o’clock news.
Another statistic.Another life claimed by an angry kid with a gun.
