I’ve been browsing some funny tee shirt sites lately and I keep running into shirts with “gold digger” themes.
Must be something in the water or is it gold digger season and someone forgot to send me the memo?
My favorite gold digger tee shirt of the moment is the one with the words “If you’re rich,I’m single”.
Pretty self explanatory.
If you want broke guys to stay as far away from you as possible,this is definitely the tee shirt to get.
Often times when we are facing tough and challenging times,we turn to prayer and ask God to make things easier for us.I know I used to be guilty of that.Each time something went wrong,I’d get on my knees and say outloud,”God please make this easier” or “God please make this go away” but the older I get,the more I realise that everything that happens to us happens for a reason.I know that is such a cheesy cliche but if you look closely at everything that has happened to you or is currently happening to you,you’ll realise that there is a very important life lesson waiting to be learned.
So now that I’ve come to that realization,I no longer ask God to make things easier for me…no,I ask him to make me stronger than whatever my situation and circumstances might be.Because if I have strength,I can face anything.I can fight anything.I can defeat anything.I can succeed.So today ladies and gents,no matter what life throws your way,don’t ask for things to be made easier,ask for strength.And always remember this phrase, — “this too shall pass”.It doesn’t matter what your current situation is,as long as you have strength in you to fight for one more day or one more hour or one more second,that situation will pass and you’ll still be standing tall!
Someone recently asked me what I enjoy most about my child and after great thought,this is what I came up…
The fact that he never gives up.No matter how tough the task at hand is,he’ll keep trying and trying until he gets it right–even if he has to ask for help.His smile when he accomplishes something or learns something new.The way his face lights up when he smiles and the way he raises his hard to give a “high five”.The fact that he loves books/reading.The fact that he’ll hug and kiss you for no reason at all.
I ran out of space at that point but I learned a huge lesson from writing about my son.I’m always complaining about this and that..”he wont listen”,”he threw a tantrum today”,he did this and that and they are all not exactly positive things despite the fact that I know for sure I have a very smart and intelligent son so having to write what I enjoy about him was a great eye opener for me!I now make it a point to say something positive about my little dude.Okay,maybe I’ll complain when he throws a tantrum and acts up but I’ll always add “you know last night,he read half a book all by himself”.I’m learning to balance the positive and negative.Not an easy task but I’m trying and along the way,I’m realising my son is really a little angel even on his “off days”…and I’m totally nuts about him.
What are obstacles?
Simply put…
Obstacles are those fightful things you see when you take your eyes off your goals.
You can overcome your obstacles.
Just keep your eyes on the prize.
And most importantly,never ever give up.
I’m very easily amused so it comes as no surprise that when I saw this on a board I frequent,it cracked me up big time.
It says “Don’t drink water,fish have sex in it”.
