Kudos to Blake from Promove

Blogged under Kudos, This and That by mimi on Tuesday 25 March 2008 at 4:39 pm

This is long overdue but as the saying goes, better late than never.

Anyone who knows me knows just how much I detest hunting for apartments. The whole process stresses me out entirely way too much.I hate looking through apartment magazines that show glossy pictures of apartments but neglect to tell you that those pictures where taken over 2 years ago and that the apartments have never been repainted since then.I hate that on the phone the apartment managers tell you you’ll pay XX amount per month in rent only for the price to go up a few more hundred dollars when you get to the actual complex.I hate how magazines never tell you about the neighborhood the apartment complex is in until you waste your gas and drive there only to find that the complex is in crackhead paradise…I could go on and rant here but thats not the purpose of this post….

…A few weeks ago,I decided to downsize and move into an apartment.I went to the supermarket and picked up one of those apartment guides and went to check out about 3 of the apartments listed. As expected, they over promised and under delivered and needless to say I was very, very angry and extremely frustrated.I was about to give up on the whole apartment search thing for the day when my friend and I happened to drive by the Atlanta Promove office (we were lost trying to find our way back to the interstate!) so anyway,I figured why not just stop in and see what they have to offer.I was very skeptical.

The mood in the office was professional but laid back. They had representatives all over the place…some helping clients, some on the phone, others on computers. The receiptionist took me to an empty meeting room and told me a rep would be in shortly to assist me.To make the long story short,in walked this tall, very polite and professional guy who introduced himself as Blake. After exchanging pleasantries,he asked me which areas I was interested in living in,how much I was willing to spend, what kind of apartment I was considering and all that good stuff.I told him and he was able to quickly put together a few apartments for me to look at based on my needs.

Blake also followed up with me via email and phone from the day I walked into the Promove office to the day I finally signed my lease….yes, thanks to Blake and Promove,I found a nice apartment in a very nice neighbourhood. My apartment is close to everything I need so no more ridiculous commutes for me.Plus,I was able to get $300 off my rent for the first two months. The leasing person had forgotten to mention this promo to me but good ole Blake knew about it and he called the leasing office and inquired about it on my behalf! Now if thats not good service, then I don’t know what it.

Oh,did I mention,I never paid Blake or Promove a single cent for their service??

Thats right, they helped me find an apartment for FREE…free as in I did not pay them a penny. So,if you’re looking for an apartment in Atlanta,Georgia or Dallas,Texas..hit up promove!

Ludacris Live In Concert!!!

Blogged under Concerts, Contest Winnings, Kudos, This and That by mimi on Saturday 13 October 2007 at 9:29 pm

I love Ludacris.

He’s funny. He’s talented. He’s kinda cute but most importantly,he’s possibly one of the best entertainers today. When you see Ludacris performing, you know he’s giving you 110%…he doesn’t waste alot of time with small talk.He doesn’t do unnecessary wardrobe changes. He just raps.He entertains you.

I got lucky. In August Ludacris was scheduled to perform as part of the Samsung/at&t Summer Krush concert series.Price for the concert?ZERO dollars. You read that right, absolutely free if you could figure out a way to get your name on one of the numerous guest lists–or if you were lucky enough to win the tickets from v-103 (thats an atlanta radio station).I was surfing around the web when I came across a site with a form saying all I had to do was register to get on the waiting list…I figured I didn’t have anything to lose so I registered both my name and my hubby’s name and a few weeks later,we woke up to find a copy of this email in our mailboxes:

Congratulations - you have been added to the Samsung/at&t Summer Krush guest list for Tuesday, August 21st! Please arrive to Center Stage, located at 1374 West Peachtree Street, at 8:00 pm to see Ludacris live in concert!

Check in will take place at the front entrance of the theater. Please have your ID ready at the door.

This is an 18+ event. No one will be permitted without a valid government ID.

Thanks! We look forward to seeing you there.

I literally screamed until my head hurt!Long story short, the concert was off the hook….Ludacris killed it!Chingy was there too (chingy has got nice arms!),so was Bobby Valentino. My favorite “thug” I-20 was also in the house…he’s got the cutest dimples. The rest of the DTP family was there too.

Everything but the beer was free…popcorn, icecream, funky tee-shirts…..I had such a fantastic time at this concert.A huge thank you to Caila Healy Ball of BNC - Bragman Nyman Cafarelli.I know the pics aren’t of the best quality but enjoy them anyway….

I’m totally hooked on limbo.com.Because I spend most of my time working online, whenever I need to take a break,I just head to limbo.com and play one of their various games.I especially enjoy grabbing stuff…thats very addictive.Sometime in August,I was playing one of the grab games and the prize was $50.You basically have to grab the $50 from whomever is holding it…the person who holds the $50 (or whatever prize it is) for the longest time wins it.Well,I held the $50 for 11mins and 1 sec and I won it!!Got my cheque from limbo.com so yes, they pay!

Oh,did I mention that you also get limbo loot when you play on limbo.com?You can use your limbo loot to get some nice merchandise from the limbo store.I got the new Fergie CD using my limbo loot and yes, they sent it to me…talking about my cd,time to go play it and boogie..that Fergie girl has got some fantastic club bangers on her dutchess cd!!

Creative advertising at its best….

Blogged under Kudos, This and That by mimi on Monday 11 June 2007 at 5:26 pm

I love people who think outside the box.
I admire people who dare to be different and creative and a little bit risque just to stand out from the crowd and really grab your attention..like the people who made this post card:

creative advertising

I got the post card above in my mail. Its a bit crumpled because I get way too much junk in the mail and I was just about to toss it along with all the other junk in the trash when I noticed the text…seriously,it wasn’t the girl who caught my eye..she’s okay but the text really grabbed my attention. The post card is very original.

Lawn service ads are usually plain and boring and every line is a hard sell. Not this one.Whomever is in charge of the “Mr.Turf” advertising budget and campaign deserves a raise. The post card is simple and very, very creative. The text is a very soft sell. Its not aggressive, its funny, its catchy and most importantly its memorable. Its the kind of post card you want to show off to your friends because its unique…imagine all the free advertising and exposure “Mr.Turf” is getting from just this one simple postcard.

I’ve shared it with you and on a forum I frequent thats got over 10,000 members…they’ve probably shared the picture with some of their friends. My neighbors definitely got this in their mailboxes too. Now,if they are anything like me,they too thought it was too cute and funny and creative that they showed it to their friends, who then showed it to their friends….and so on and so on.Do the math.”Mr.Tuff” is getting so much free exposure for his business! Now if that exposure results in more business…”Mr.Tuff” will be one very wealthy man…all because he dared to think outside the box!

Every girl deserves to feel (and smell) like a golden goddess

BABY PHAT GOLDEN GODDESS by Kimora Lee Simmons for WOMENSome girls are addicted to shoes, some to clothes, others to food (yes,I went there),some are addicted to make-up,others to purses and then there are girls like me who love perfumes.I don’t know how many bottles of perfume I have but I just keep collecting more and more.

My favorite perfume at the moment is GOLDEN GODDESS by Kimora Lee Simmons.Regardless of how you personally feel about Kimora, this is a must have for every girl out there.Kimora got it right with this scent.I’m a bit pissed I didn’t find out about it until just recently when I went shopping at North Point Mall in Alpharetta,GA but I’m glad I found it.

Golden goddess is Kimora’s second fragrance. The strange thing is the first one, called Goddess actually sucks in my opinion. But the second one,Golden goddess totally rocks. Its feminine, its sweet,it isn’t overpowering, its classy,it oozes style and sophistication.I could go on and on about this perfume because it is really the best scent I’ve come across in the past 5 years!

Oh yeah, you can get it for about $55 bucks at the mall or you can get it from amazon for about $38.

Guys, next time you’re trying to figure out what to get that special lady in your life..dazzle her with the golden goddess fragrance..or ladies if you just feel like treating yourselves to a little something nice, this is the perfect treat…go ahead, treat yourself to a bottle of this amazing scent, you do deserve to feel (and smell) like a golden goddess.
