You let the devil leave his bags

Tuesday, April 20th, 2010

YOU PUT THE DEVIL OUT, BUT DID YOU LET HIM LEAVE HIS BAGS?

This is powerful and awesome!

You got out of a bad relationship
because it was bad, but you are still resentful and angry
(you let the devil leave his bags)

You got out of financial debt, but you
still can’t control the desire to spend on
frivolous things
(you let the devil leave his bags)

You got out of a bad habit or addiction,
but you still long to try it just one
more time
(you let the devil leave his bags)

You said, I forgive you, but you can’t
seem to forget and have peace with that person
(you let the devil leave his bags)

You told your unequally yoked mate that
it was over,
but you still continue to call
(you let the devil leave his bags)

You got out of that horribly oppressive
job, but you are still trying to sabotage the
company after you’ve left
(you let the devil leave his bags)

You cut off the affair with that married
man/woman,but you still lust after him/her
(you let the devil leave his bags)

You broke off your relationship with that
hurtful, abusive person, but you are suspicious
and distrusting of every new person you meet
(you let the devil leave his bags)

You decided to let go of the past hurts
from growing up in an unstable environment,
yet you believe you are unworthy of love from others
and you refuse to get attached to anyone
(you let the devil leave his bags)

When you put the devil out,
please make sure he takes his bags!

HAPPINESS KEEPS YOU SWEET,
TRIALS KEEP YOU STRONG
AND SORROWS KEEP YOU HUMAN.
FAILURES KEEP YOU HUMBLE,
SUCCESS KEEPS YOU GLOWING
BUT ONLY GOD KEEPS YOU GOING!

In The Remainder of 2010,
Let the devil Take his bags with him!
Be Blessed, Healthy and Happy

Walk Like You Have Somewhere To Go – Lucille O’Neal

Sunday, April 11th, 2010

I know Shaquille O’Neal.
Not personally but I’ve seen him play a few times and I know about his beef with Kobe Bryant, the alleged affairs that supposedly drove him to parting ways with his wife and all the details that emerged about him in his messy divorce. I also know and really love his comedy specials. I probably know more about Shaq than Lucille O’Neal would like me to know.

Who is Lucille O’Neal?
Excellent question. I had no clue who she was either until I picked up Walk Like You Have Somewhere To Go.
Normally I wouldn’t care what a wealthy pro-basketballer’s mother had to say but something about Lucille O’Neal tag “my journey from mental welfare to mental wealth” had me curious so I dived in.

Lucille’s story is humbling.Its entertaining.Its inspiring.
I can guarantee that you will find one thing in her book that you can relate to.
You can’t help but root for her when you read the first few chapters of the her book and by the end, you’ll be on your feet giving her a standing ovation for all she has accomplished.
I could point out a whole bunch of things that impressed me about Lucille O’Neal’s life story but I especially liked the part where she gained self confidence and learned to stand up for herself.
I just added another heroine to my growing list of women I admire and her name is Lucille O’Neal.

Cars,cars,cars

Friday, April 2nd, 2010

I don’t know junk about car repair so whenever my car acts up or breaks down,I simply speed dial my trusted mechanic and he calmly walks me through whatever the problem is before fixing it.I drive a Kia Sephia but lately I’ve been thinking about getting a honda accord. I’m a bit hesitant to get another car since my kia is fully paid off and frankly the idea of monthly payments doesn’t appeal to me.

I asked a buddy of mine if honda accords are good cars and he assured me they are but naturally I’m worried about things like timing belt replacement and engine replacement.See,the last car I owned needed both of those and the seller neglected to mention it to me.I sank alot of money into that car and then ended up selling it to a junk yard.So yes,I’m very skeptical.

My mechanic who was once part of the thriving San Francisco auto repair industry has agreed to come with me when I go out to look at new cars…that way he can check them out and make sure everything works just fine so I don’t spend my hard earned dollars on yet another lemon.

The dog that changed it all…almost

Wednesday, March 17th, 2010

All my life I’ve been scared of dogs.
Actually all my life,I’ve been terrified of animals. All animals.
Then she came into my life. Her name is Nala. She’s not mine but I hang out with her alot.
If someone had told me I’d one day let a dog lay next to me or on me or even ride in the same car as me,I’d have laughed in their face and pointed them to the nearest mental ward.
But this adorable miniature dachshund lays next to me – and sometimes on my lap,and she even rides in my car – in the passenger’s seat. She’s my co-pilot.

nala

I still freak out if she comes close to my toes and I don’t have socks on and I still go into panic mode if her wet nose touches me but I’ve made progress…alot of progress in the animal department thanks to Nala.
I wont be adopting any pets anytime soon though and if I still wont stroke your pet,its nothing personal..even Nala had to grow on me!

Lies the Government Told You

Monday, March 1st, 2010

I’ve never heard the pleasure of listening to Judge Napolitano but a friend of mine insists he is one smart man and after reading his book – Lies the Government Told You: Myth, Power and Deception in American History, I must say, I whole heartedly agree. Judge Napolitano impressed me with the combination of his knowledge of the constitution and American history and very compelling story-telling. He gives the reader the facts and doesn’t shy away when it comes to criticizing the government for its hypocrisy throughout history.

My only beef with the Judge’s book is the fact that he seems intent on creating paranoia among the masses especially when he warns the reader that reading his book could potentially make them a target for monitoring by the government. Other than it, Lies the Government Told You: Myth, Power and Deception in American History is an enlightening must read for all.

Stealing Coins From The Fountain

Tuesday, February 23rd, 2010

The Westin Hotel in LA has an awesome fountain in the lobby and being the curious person I am,I decided to check it out to see if anyone had dropped coins in there and sure enough, there were a bunch of coins in the water..suddenly a naughty thought occurred to me…..
Are you stealing if you take coins from a fountain?
Seriously.

You are beautiful

Worrying does not empty tomorrow of its trouble, It empties today of its strength

What makes me weak? My fears…..

What makes me whole? My God.

What keeps me standing? My faith.

What makes me compassionate? My selflessness.

What makes me honest? My integrity.

What sustains my mind? My quest for knowledge.

What teaches me all lessons? My mistakes.

What lift’s my head high? My pride, not arrogance.

What if I can’t go on? Not an option.

What makes me victorious? My courage to climb.

What makes me competent? My confidence .

What makes me sensual? My insatiable essence.

What makes me beautiful? My everything.

What makes me a woman? My heart .

Who says I need love? I do.

What empowers me? My God & Me.

Who am I? I AM A PROUD STRONG WOMAN!
