Like everyone else I’m following the DJ AM presumed suicide drama as it unfolds and I find myself coming back to one question – how do you get that lonely,to the point of taking your own life, and no one knows?
I’m reminded of that country song by Blaine Larsen – “How Do You Get That Lonely“…
How do you get that lonely, how do you hurt that bad
To make you make the call, that havin’ no life at all
Is better than the life that you had
How do you feel so empty, you want to let it all go
How do you get that lonely… and nobody knows
Its really sad when anyone makes the decision to end their lives especially when its someone so young,so full of promise, with a bright future ahead of them.
DJ AM seemed to have it all – a great apartment,an awesome dream job, a model girlfriend and a rolodex full of the numbers of some of the most influential people that you and I can only dream of meeting and yet he woke up one day and decided he was better off dead than alive.I wish he had called Hopeline.
To you the person reading this,I want you to know that I care. That you are never alone and that whether you’re a personal friend or a stranger who just stumbled across my blog – I’m here for you.If you’re feeling lonely or angry or if you just need to vent and get stuff off your chest, shoot me an email, talk to me,let it all out.I will listen.I will not judge you.I will be your sounding board.Just please don’t get so lonely and depressed to the point where you decide to take your own life.Whatever issue you’re dealing with, whatever the crisis is,I want you to remember this: “This too shall pass”.
Life comes in phases and as cheesy as it sounds, the sun must shine after each storm. The trick is hanging in tight when the storm is raging on around and inside you.Never give up.I know you can hang in there. If you feel like you have no one to talk to,please call Hopeline or the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1-800-273-TALK (8255).You can call 24 hours a day,7 days a week.
Suicide must never be an option when figuring out solutions to whatever crisis you’re facing.
You’re not alone.
Someone cares.
I care.
