This past weekend I attended a trade show and I was so disgusted I left within 30 minutes.Why did I leave in such a hurry?Well,first this was the most disorganised trade show ever.The organisers did not do a good job in preparing everyone for the event and they obviously underestimated the amount of traffic — both cars and people because the venue was super small with very few parking spots.Most people had to park in the Walmart parking lot across the street.
Second,the companies that were making presentations were very unprofessional.Most company representatives looked so bored and uninterested in promoting their companies.The most frustrating thing to me were the plain trade show booths.Whatever happened to “wowing” me over with a company’s beautiful and very professional booth?Had these people never heard of table skirts?Had no one ever taught them that first impressions affect the bottom line in business and life in general?
It would have taken these companies less than an hour to get decent table skirts with their logos on them and make a good impression on prospective clients but I guess that was asking them for too much.I’m very disappointed in the companies at that trade show and I honestly don’t think I’ll go back next year (its an annual show),not unless the companies decide to step up their game big time!
